Silke Horstkotte is a lecturer and research fellow at the University of Leipzig (Germany) and co-director of the research project “Historical Modes of Perception in Image and Text”. Her work focuses on photo-text relations and memorial discourses in contemporary German literature as well as on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century literature. She has published a book on Clemens Brentano and articles on Goethe, Novalis, W.G. Sebald, on photography in literature, and on the transgenerational transmission of memory.
