David McWhirter is Associate Professor of English at Texas A&M University. He is the author of Desire and Love in Henry James: A Study of the Late Novels (1989) and editor of Henry James's New York Edition: The Construction of Authorship (1995). With Pamela R. Matthews, he co-edited the interdisciplinary volume, Aesthetic Subjects (2003). He is currently completing a book project focused on James's late 1890s texts, titled Modern Subjects in Henry James.
