Cheese, Stolen Paper, and the London Book Trade, 1750-99

This article examines one aspect of crime in the London book trade. It deals with the theft of paper, blank, printed, and manuscript, from seventeen members of the trade and discusses how the thieves attempted to sell the paper to other London tradesmen, primarily cheesemongers.
