Claire Kahane
claire kahane is Professor of English at the State University of New York at Buffalo. A longterm member of the Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Culture, she has published numerous articles relating psychoanalysis and feminism to modern literature. Her most recent book is Passions of the Voice: Hysteria, Narrative, and the Figure of the Speaking Woman, 1850–1915 (Johns Hopkins UP, 1995). She is currently working on a series of essays on trauma, mourning, and Holocaust narrative.
