Coppélia Kahn, author most recently of Man's Estate: Masculine Identity in Shakespeare (Berkeley: U of California P, 1981), teaches English and Women's Studies at Brown University. She is coeditor of “Changing Subjects: The Making of Feminist Literary Criticism” (forthcoming from Routledge) and is writing a book on the ideologies of gender in Shakespeare's Roman works.
