karen redrobe is the Elliot and Roslyn Jaffe Professor of Cinema and Modern Media at the University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of Crash: Cinema and the Politics of Speed and Stasis (Duke University Press, 2010) and Vanishing Women: Magic, Film, and Feminism (Duke University Press, 2003) and is now completing Undead: Animation and the Contemporary Art of War (University of California Press, forthcoming). She is the editor of Animating Film Theory (Duke University Press, 2014) and has coedited three volumes: Deep Mediations: Thinking Space in Cinema and Digital Cultures with Jeff Scheible (Minnesota University Press, 2021), which won the Society for Cinema and Media Studies Award for Best Edited Collection; On Writing with Photography (Minnesota University Press, 2013) with Liliane Weissberg; and Still Moving: Between Cinema and Photography (Duke University Press, 2008).
