Ellen Rooney is an associate professor of English and Modern Culture and Media at Brown University. She is the author of Seductive Reasoning: Pluralism as the Problematic of Contemporary Literary Theory (Ithaca: Cornell UP, 1989) and is currently at work on “Criticism and the Subject of Sexual Violence.”
