Paya Soup

Harris Solomon is Fred W. Shaffer Associate Professor of Cultural Anthropology and Global Health at Duke University. His work focuses on metabolic disease in India and on trauma, intensive care, and Covid-19 in India and the United States. He is the author of Metabolic Living Food, Fat, and the Absorption of Illness in India, the cowinner of the 2018 New Millennium Book Prize from the Society for Medical Anthropology. His next book, Lifelines: The Traffic of Trauma, is forthcoming from Duke University Press in 2022.
