Art, Activism, and the Presence of Memory in Palestine: Interview with Palestinian Artist Rana Bishara

Lila Abu-Lughod is the Joseph L. Buttenwieser Professor of Social Science at Columbia University, where she teaches anthropology and gender studies and is affiliated with the Center for Palestine Studies. She writes on sentiment, poetry, media, and nationalism, and her most recent book is Do Muslim Women Need Saving? (Harvard University Press, 2013). Her scholarship on Palestine focuses on memory, archives, museums, and cultural politics, beginning with a book she coedited with Ahmad H. Sa'di, Nakba: Palestine, 1948, and the Claims of Memory (Columbia University Press, 2007).
