Almost There
Etgar Keret, called “the voice of the next generation” by Salman Rushdie and “one of the most important writers alive” by Clive James, received the Chevalier Medallion of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2010 and, in 2007, shared the Cannes Film Festival's Caméra d'Or award with his wife Shira Geffen for the Hebrew-language feature Meduzot (Jellyfish), which they codirected. His short fiction has appeared in the New Yorker, Zoetrope, and the Paris Review—and his books, which have been translated into more than forty-five languages, include Fly Already; The Bus Driver Who Wanted to Be God and Other Stories; The Nimrod Flipout; The Girl on the Fridge; Missing Kissinger; Kneller's Happy Campers; Suddenly, a Knock on the Door; and The Seven Good Years: A Memoir.
