Michael Davidson is distinguished professor emeritus of literature at the University of California, San Diego. He is the author of The San Francisco Renaissance: Poetics and Community at Mid-century (1989), Ghostlier Demarcations: Modern Poetry and the Material Word (1997), Guys Like Us: Citing Masculinity in Cold War Poetics (2003), and On the Outskirts of Form: Practicing Cultural Poetics (2012). He has written extensively on disability issues, most recently Concerto for the Left Hand: Disability and the Defamiliar Body (2008) and Invalid Modernism: Disability and the Missing Body of the Aesthetic (2019). He has published eight books of poetry, the most recent of which is Bleed Through: New and Selected Poems (2013).
