The conclusion discusses what it means to be “post”-disaster, bringing the reader up to date with the country’s experiences and management of COVID-19 and the ongoing militarization of society and governance. It reminds the reader of the different experiences and modes of temporality that challenge linear and circular models and imaginations of risk and disaster management, ultimately suggesting that disaster response, management, and mitigation must be separated from military and securitization mechanisms and logics.
