Recognizing that institutionalization of the LGBTQ movement takes money, this chapter details how large-scale funding has affected the shape of the movement. The chapter argues that funding considerations have changed the priorities of organizations. Rather than pursuing a bold and inclusive vision of change, or working on and saying things that are often unpopular, large LGBTQ organizations are playing it safe, advancing goals and ideas that funding entities might support.
