Part II is an exploration of the geography of grief and shows how sorrow can become enmeshed with a landscape, indistinguishable from the ether of place. The places in the story are places of after-ness. Environments may hold a crushing sorrow––in objects and spaces once shared––but for those who remain, there is often no moving on, so together with the dead they linger.
