Alongside a Chorus of Voices

As a conclusion, the author elaborates on his own involvement in Switzerland’s music scene by way of his piece Alongside a Chorus of Voices. Premiering at the Lucerne Festival Forward in 2021, the work written for large ensemble aims to encourage discussions about antiblackness, Blackness, and Switzerland. Furthermore, the piece and the surrounding events of advocacy for Black lives in Europe by way of the classical and new, or experimental, music world is tied to the creation of this book: the possibility to think Black Switzerland required the meetings and musickings in the world that lay ground to theorizing in excess of available discourses.
