Mobilizing Trans Poetics

Drawing on classical poetics, trans poets, and a poetics of the undercommons, I explore what trans poetics means in the university context. The term invites us to ask what bodies and symbols are transed in this space, and what working creatively with them involves? Trans poetics marks the necessity of thinking words joined to materiality, shot through with creativity, and inseparable from the energies clustering under the sign “trans-.” Trans poetics involves the words we speak and write, feel, and dance. It means the ways we eat and breathe with one another, love and die through one another. It is a cipher for “moreness.”
