“Ketamine Journal” is a diaristic work of autotheory in which the author reflects on her experiences with ketamine, a psychedelic drug used in medical settings for pain management and anesthesia. The author describes the transformative effects that ketamine has on her consciousness and self-perception, and she reflects on the complex ethical and political implications of using such drugs in medical and therapeutic contexts. She also discusses the ways in which her experiences with ketamine intersect with her identity as a trans woman and suggests that altered states of consciousness can provide valuable insights into the nature of self and embodiment.
