With the project’s initial multidimensionality established (Module 4), this module focuses on writing a research description (RD). The RD is a 100- to 150-word narrative rendition of what the project is about: what will be done where, when, with whom, why, and with respect to what kinds of disciplinary objectives and ideas. The goal of this module is to produce an RD that narrates how and why a project’s empirical and theoretical concepts are being put together in new or unusual ways. As a narrative distillation of the concept map and a showcase for innovative research concept combo(s), the RD represents the project’s core conceptualization and multidimensionality.
