Chapter 5 opens on WWAV’s move-in day in 2015, honoring the local, national, and global work that made this homecoming possible. Now that WWAV can again take place and have a space, our possibilities for doing the work abound. We follow the WWAV family in the months to come as we invent our own liberatory superhero with #BlackFeministSanta, map a campaign for Safety and Love to fight alongside poor Black women and girls for our right to the city, and formally launch our front porch strategy on the national stage. We also zoom out spatially and temporally to reckon with how past, present, and future are held in the intimacy of these moments. We close this chapter with the same invitation with which the book began: to join us in doing the work of building a more just South and a just society.
