The Silent Advent of the Age of Sexual Persuasion (言性时代悄然莅临)

Published:January 2024
Centered on a young boy who has been teased and bullied for years because he cries a lot, this coming-of-age story explores issues of effeminophobia, sexual possession, passion, and openness. For the story’s protagonist, being penetrated by his sexual partner is a form of erotic submission and in fact a survival strategy, and he urges all bottoms to let go of the values of the old age of romantic persuasion, such as modesty, subtlety, and artifice and replace them with exuberant appreciation of their partners’ sexual organs. Although the age of sexual persuasion is marked by verbal excess and openness, it comes silently. By characterizing this mental shift as the inauguration of a new era, the narrator describes sexuality with a revolutionary vocabulary that is typically reserved for socialism.
