Part 6 examines the intertwined roles of artists, organizers, and activists in movements for systemic shifts toward equity. Topics include 2020's intersecting crises as catalysts for personal and institutional change; how Afrofuturism can provide lessons for transformative organizing; practical recommendations for funders and allies to create racial equity in the arts; art as a tool for accountability and shifting perceptions; community and collective care as guiding principles for building nonextractive institutions; fashion design centering radical visibility and accessibility; hula as resistance; artists as disruptors of historically constructed identity formations; intergenerational experiences in challenging gender norms; artists undermining settler colonial architectures; and transnational solidarity around resistance struggles.
