This oral history concludes at the turn of the century, but the movement continues to this day. It has not been without difficulties and challenges, but has also experienced a great deal of energy, new faces and voices, continued community support, and the reaffirmation of the Arkestra/UGMAA ethos/aesthetic. Through the ups and downs of its history, in good times and bad, the constant has always been the politico-cultural commitment, spirit, and consciousness bonding of members throughout.
