In this interview with Elisabeth Lebovici, Zoe Leonard explains how her camerae obscurae explore photographic seeing. The camerae obscurae provide a way to go back to the beginning of photography, and to expand the ways in which one can experience, understand, and see photography. For Leonard these considerations are both psychological and political, and she proposes that the space of the camera obscura is related to the unconscious.
