This chapter explores what happens to patients after facial feminization surgery. Engaging the narratives of three patients—one directly following surgery who is fantasizing about its ultimate effects, one whose surgery is considered an unqualified success, and one who finds that FFS did not do for her what she hoped it would—multiplies questions of how and for whom FFS works, unsettling any simple narrative of what this surgery can do.
