This chapter examines two important aspects of his political writings, as they are developed in Žižek’s “communist writing series”: the idea of communism and the critique of ideology, which in a certain instance of analysis, are correlative with one another. This analysis is divided in three parts: it analyses Žižekian political variants, goes through the examination of the “dirty hands of politics” against the position of the beautiful soul, and ends with reconstructing his idea of communism.
