Curated Collections
Drawing on nearly a century of scholarship from the pages of American Speech (1925–), invited curators have compiled a selection of articles on topics of interest to them within the mission of the journal. Each collection comprises an overview paragraph and a list of five or six articles, which can be updated periodically to include concordant content from the journal when its inclusion enriches the list. Curators have assembled articles for various reasons: the curator esteems these articles; the relation of these articles give pause, stimulate reflection, or facilitate instruction; or where the contrast among the articles elicit further research questions. All featured articles are linked to online versions available at Duke University Press (2000–) or JSTOR (1925–1999). ADS members who lack institutional access can view linked articles by signing in to their Duke University Press account or, for content on JSTOR, through the American Dialect Society Membership Validator.
