A Guided Tour of Dialectology
David Bowie is professor of English and chair of the Department of English at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he regularly teaches courses in linguistics ranging from introductory general education courses to graduate seminars. His research deals primarily with language variation and change in adulthood and secondarily with the ways speakers’ use of language correlates with religious identity, and for both of those, he uses data primarily from the U.S. Intermountain West.
