SAMANTHA M. LITTY is a research associate at the Institute for Frisian Studies and Minority Research at the Europa-Universität Flensburg, where she leads the multiyear German Research Foundation project “Visibilizing Normative Regional Historical Multilingualism (ViNoRHM): Ideology, Policy, and Practice,” which focuses on the historically quintolingual Duchy of Schleswig in the nineteenth century.
