R. DOUGLAS HURT is professor of history at Purdue University and a fellow of the Agricultural History Society. He is a former editor of Agricultural History and former president of the Agricultural History Society. His most recent books are Documents of the Dust Bowl: Eye Witness to History (ABC-CLIO, 2019) and The Green Revolution in the Global South: Science, Politics, and Unintended Consequences (University of Alabama Press, 2020).
